Gangai Amman

It is connected with praying or garlanding Sirasu, in order to get your wishes fulfilled. Gangai Amman is a powerful god in fulfilling the wishes of the devotees. After the grand possession, the Sirasu is taken inside the temple, and fixed on the body where the Amman gives worship to all the devotees during the day. In the late evening, the head is taken out and then embarked on a possession, after which you immerse it in the water and then dissolve it. It is then celebrated in a grand manner much better than the morning possession, as it is assumed that the Amman is going to her mother’s place after the festival.

Major fireworks are involved which takes place close to 3 hours, and is contributed by the people from the neighbouring towns as well. With the first shot of the cracker you know that the possession has started.
